The Good: Wayward Souls is easily worth your $5.00. The touch controls are responsive and work quite well. The sound and music are great. The retro graphics are impressive as well (even on my 3+ year old phone). The dialogue is well written and even made me laugh a couple of times. The game is very difficult, without being cheap. It has six characters (3 to start, 3 to unlock), all with their own storyline, weapons, powers, and upgrades. There are even hats to collect!



The Bad: Not much! I'm just nitpicking, really. Because everything is procedurally generated, sometimes you can get less than impressive floor layouts. I find it can be a little frustrating when you fight 5+ waves of enemies and winning unlocks a room completely devoid of any treasure. It would also be nice if you could review the text of your current weapons/armor and their current upgraded powers/bonuses. It would be helpful if the game had a confirmation screen when exiting the app to ask whether or not you would like to save/discard your current game.



The Ugly: None. No more crashes! The game was updated today and has not crashed on me since updating the app. Thank you, devs! :D
