Plays a lot like pre 1.2 Terraria, and I feel like they did a really good job at capturing that feel. Unlike previous mobile versions of popular games (MC:PE), this one has all the same content as the PC version (pre 1.2). The fps seems to be smooth, I love being able to choose between 5 hotbar slots and 10 and the zoom is really great. The controls have obviously been really refined, which means it shouldn't take too much time to adjust. The character creation screen is surprisingly easy to figure out and use. The gameplay is almost exactly like Terraria PC, and if you have never played that, I recommend that you look it up. For those that don't want to look it up right now, it shares quite a lot with Minecraft, including building, mining, ores and more. But this game also has a LOT of variations. These include lots of boss fights, TONS of monsters and friendlies, lots of ores and tools/armor, awesome biomes and much more. I highly recommend getting this game, and if you enjoy it, definitely check out Terraria PC.</div>

Dell Venue 8 Pro 32 GB Tablet (Windows 8.1)

It did take a while to arrive (about 3 weeks), but this review isn't about Dell's marketplace. :) I've had the Venue Pro 8 for a few days now and have gotten in a decent amount of both play time and work time. I want to preface this, by saying that I've been through the following tablets over the past couple of years - 1st gen iPad, 3rd gen iPad, iPad mini, Kindle Fire, Nook HD, Samsung Galaxy tab, Surface RT, and Asus VivoTab RT. Up until I bought the Venue Pro 8, I was using the Surface RT as my primary tablet. My kids play their games on the iPads, and I honestly haven't touched them for several months, except to install updates. The thing that has always frustrated me about tablets is that they are great for consumption of content - books, videos, games, but awful for getting actual work done. And for a guy that works 60+ hour weeks and spends 4 months out of the year travelling, it sucks trying to do work on tablets. The Venue Pro 8, however, is the full version of Windows 8. I have the full version of Microsoft Office 2013 on here, Visio and Project (which are critical to my job), as well as other apps that I use, such as Mindjet MindManager, and MineCraft :) This tablet is literally a full PC in a tablet's body. The battery life is compares to other tablets. I'm tracking around 10 hours of use so far. It's turns on and off as quickly as any other tablet. Last night, I was watching TV with the Dell Venue Pro 8 on the couch next to me, and during the commercials, I picked it up to check up on a couple of blogs and play a couple levels of some casual games. This morning, I turned on my Bluetooth Microsoft Wedge Keyboard and Wedge Mouse, and went out to Starbucks to work for the morning. My laptop stayed in my bag, and I only used the Venue Pro 8 - checking email, working on a Word doc, taking a conference call on Lync, etc. Yes, the screen is a little small for working on it non-stop, but the resolution is very good and you can compensate for the screen size by adjusting the font sizes in Windows. I haven't had any issues working from the tablet for lengthy periods of time. I two have two issues, though. The first is the pen. I bought the pen and case combo from Dell, and the pen holder is situated along the right side of the case, when it's being held vertically. Because of this, the pen is close enough to the screen that it deactivates the touch input. This is really annoying, so I stopped carrying the pen in the case. Instead, I put the pen in my pocket. Then the other day, I took it out of my pocket to use it, and I noticed that the tip of the pen had broken off. That was a bit frustrating since the pen was $35. The second issue is with the case. It's a pretty nice case, but it's bulky and the tablet is tough to get out of it once it's in. When I'm using the case, it feels like the tablet is bulky and thick. When I take it out, it feels slim and light, so I prefer to use it out of the case. So my recommendation is that if you buy this tablet, don't spend the money on the case and stylus - instead take the money and buy a Wedge Keyboard and Mouse - it makes it a lot more usable. The last thing I'll say is that I saw a video on YouTube of a guy who hooked up the Venue Pro 8 up to a couple of monitors to use it like a PC. I haven't done that yet, but I did buy a Male B to Female A USB cable in order to do this. Once that arrives, I'm going to plug this into my USB docking station and try running this tablet as my primary PC. Overall, this is the best tablet I've used to date. It really makes Windows shine and makes me more of a believer in the Microsoft vision -</div>

I used to be a math major, so an app that combines math and art like this app does is a great find for me. The concept is simple: make art with trigonometric shapes using the tools you are given. There are several save options in the menu (accessible through the side panel), letting you save to different formats such as jpeg and html. I also like that there is a clean exit through the same menu, and that there are no bad permissions. There is one flaw with this app, though. There are six buttons at the bottom of the screen that you can play around with. However, there are no instructions telling you what these buttons do, leaving you with the task of figuring out what these buttons do. So far, I've figured out three of the six buttons, with a couple of clues for the rest. In order from left to right: 1) Adjust center point of the shapes. 2) Change the color palette and shading. 3) Clue: Something to do with angles. 4) Clue: Seems to toggle between shapes. 5) Clue: Something to do with lines. 6) Erase all nonmoving objects on the screen. I'm not confident that those are accurate. Here's the thing, though: I shouldn't have to guess at what something is supposed to do. There should at least be some instructions telling you what each button's function is. It's more frustrating to sit there guessing than it is to look something up in the menu. I think this app has a lot of potential, and it is still a lot of fun to play around with. All it needs is proper instructions to make this app less frustrating and more enjoyable. Until then, I give this app 3 stars. - Sam</div>

It has had some issues but they have seemed to fix those issues once they are known. The latest issue was with you not being able to get the latest info, would be old and there was no refresh button. The app now has a refresh button, and always seems to have the latest info when I open it. However, I recently purchased a Kindle Fire HD. The first app that I installed was the Weather Channel app. After a few days, I began to notice that my Fire HD had no battery life. I fully charged it. Went to bed and read for just a little bit. Made sure the wifi was turned off. When I woke in the morning, I only had 36% of battery left. And it was asleep all night. So after playing with it for several days, turning this and that off, uninstalling different apps, I've come to find out that it is the Weather Channel app that is sucking the battery life out of the Fire. I have now uninstalled it and gone are the battery issues. I can go to bed at night and it loses at most 2-3% of it's battery life over night. And I can now believe that the Fire does have an 11 hour battery life. Previously, I was getting, at most, 4 hours of use. I gave the app 3 stars because it IS a super great app. And I'm hoping that the developers will soon look at the problem of why it is using so much battery power. I just want an app, that when I click on it, I can find out the weather forecast for my home and a few selected cities. I don't want it to keep running when I'm not using it.</div>

Each puzzle consists of determining words, based on hints, a short, crossword-like definition and the word length. You form those words by selection among letter groups. What makes this game somewhat interesting is that in a few cases, more than one letter group may work for a word and you need to consider which would be needed for one of the other words in the current puzzle. The frustrating part is that it's hard, for me anyway. You don't get the additional help found in crosswords that, for example the word is 8 letters (you *do* get that here) and the 5th letter is "w" (that's the part that is missing). Also frustrating is that the puzzles start out being difficult. I would like to see a bunch offered that is considerably easier (for people like me with a limited... group of words that we know. There are hints offered. You get 15 for free and can "unlock" an unlimited number for $3. So, if you like this game and continue to need help it is no longer free. You start out with 80 games. If you want more you can get 40 at a time for $1 each. So, if you want to keep playing this game it is no longer free. All that said, at least today, when the limited portion of the game is free you get a great chance to find out if you like it enough to buy more of it. And, there are no worries about malware, viruses, or adware (other than the built in hard sell for more of what you just bought).</div>
