I would like carb counts for a low carb diet - also not available, No nutritional information is available. Ok how about tracking my weight over time... Looks like I will be able to enter my weight and chart it... sounds good, right? Oh wait - when you go to the menu to enter a weight, you get a box with a question mark, but no keyboard, so you can't enter your weight. Conclusion, this is a massively useless app. Good thing it was the FAOTD - I would be screaming if I paid for it.

I tried the free version, and believe in paying the developer for the full version. After a bit of trouble installing it from the Amazon App Store, it downloaded fine and is running with no problem.

The paid version includes most of the single-target exercises available in the other apps in this series (abs, arms, butt, cardio, legs) -- everything except the ball workout and the yoga. As with the earlier apps, you can choose to target one area, select a workout length of 5, 7.5, or 10 minutes, choose one of 3 preset routines, start from your choice of exercise on the list, or make a custom routine. So far, you've bought five 99-cent apps for $3.99 and have less clutter on your screen.

What's really new here is that you can now do a full-body routine. The default routine (available on the free version) is fine. With the paid version, you can also make a custom routine including up to 20 exercises from a list of about 85, sorted by target area. You can save the routine and select a workout length of 10, 20, or 30 minutes. Customizing helps me get a challenging workout without stressing my aging wrists and knees.

For people new to this series: each exercise is demonstrated by a looping video of a fit young woman in fairly modest workout clothing. She models the correct form but doesn't explain it. Instructions are printed underneath. A woman's voice announces the name of the exercise, and then there is silence until the next exercise. You can turn off the sound.

Why only 4 stars? There is no option to add a rhythmic sound to signal the reps. That would be a useful addition for an update. Without that sound, it is hard to keep the rhythm during exercises where your position doesn't let you watch the screen.

I've used enough recipe apps to know that Allrecipes is one of the most comprehensive full-featured recipe apps in the Android world. The recipe spinner is a nice feature, especially with its ability to add filters for vegan, low sodium, low carbohydrates, etc. Recipes that you like can be added to a recipe box for quick recall later. Unlike some recipe books and apps, the basic nutritional information is given (serving size, calories, fat, carbs, etc.), which is essential information for many people. To take full advantage of the app, you'll have to create an account with Allrecipes. Once you've done that, you can create shopping lists, email recipes, adjust the size of the recipes, and other things that are useful.

This is probably the most full-featured recipe app that I've seen. It's simple enough to use, but there is online help available if needed. It does require that the user be online when looking for recipes, but I don't see that as a significant downside.

Note: I ran the app on my Kindle Fire HD (7"), where I had no problems.
