I love the size! Bigger than a touch screen phone yet smaller than an ipad and LIGHT! I Loaded it with music before wrapping and played with it a little to see how it worked. If your looking for an Ipad move on because for 50-60$ that's not what your getting. (Duh for those leaving poor reviews!) However it holds a decent amount of music and has an expandable storage! That is important because they are so cheep no (32 g for 30$). It was pretty speedy with internet and streaming movies on Netflix. Would highly recommend for a teenager or Child. Cute bright color options. Sound good without headphones! I really think this was a good deal. Works great as an MP3 Player that also has Wifi and good for basic searches and facebook.</div><br /></div><br /></div>

I won't go into too much detail on what this is or how it's played, because (most likely) everyone has already played it, or some variation of this amazing puzzler.<br/><br /><br/><br />The Good:<br/><br /><br/><br />- The touch controls are simply flawless, and I have not experienced any problems that other reviewers have reported about them. I only went up to level 12, but even at that speed everything responded fine. You have plenty of time to change the orientation of the Tetrimino even AFTER it falls.<br/><br /><br/><br />- "Magic" mode puts a great spin on the classic Tetris by giving you set level line clear goals and throwing in a ton of cool power ups into the mix.<br/><br /><br/><br />- There are Statistics to help you keep tracks of your lines and high scores in both modes (Marathon and Magic).<br/><br /><br/><br />- Multiple languages are supported. English, French, Dutch, Italian and Spanish. Not that there is a lot of writing here, but at least you will be able to go through the extensive options and help file in the language of your choice.<br/><br /><br/><br />- The Help menu explains pretty much all the Tetris basics, as well as new features exclusive to this game.<br/><br /><br/><br />- It's the classic Tetris I grew up on (with a few twists).<br/><br /><br/><br />- The music is fairly pleasant, mostly remixes of original and classic tunes, with a lot of new ones thrown in for good measure. Purists will hate this, I think it's a good change.<br/><br /><br/><br />- Graphics are outstanding. The blocks are big and bright, and the backgrounds are cool and bubbly (you can disable these bubbles should you want to in the options menu).<br/><br /><br/><br />- It does NOT have to be connected via WiFi or 3/4G to be played. I tried it on a tablet and two phones in airplane mode. This is a single player game.<br/><br /><br/><br />The Bad:<br/><br /><br/><br />Permissions, permissions, permissions. Oh my:<br/><br /><br/><br />- Read only access to phone state - This permission gives an application access to the IMEI, IMSI, and your phone number (as well as incoming and outgoing calls). So think of it as a massive tracking cookie that keeps tabs on everything you do, and that you had no choice in installing.<br/><br />Many software developers use this permissionsto track purchases and piracy. However the potential for disaster is huge here. A lot of companies will pay good money to get the information above, and once that falls into their hands...<br/><br /><br/><br />- Open network sockets - This permission gives an application free range Internet access. I still don't know why this and the above permissions are needed in a SINGLE PLAYER game.<br/><br /><br/><br />- Change network connectivity state - This permissions allows the game to enable or disable your WiFi and 3/4G connection. Most likely to force you onto one of them (probably the 3/4G one).<br/><br /><br/><br />- Access information about networks - Works in tandem with the above permission to show EA what kind of networks you are running.<br/><br /><br/><br />- No VS mode. The permissions are already here, why not take Tetris online? I would probably (not really) kill to be able to play against my friends.<br/><br /><br/><br />- $2.99? What for? There are literally hundreds of free or $.99 Tetris clones you could play on your Android device.<br/><br /><br/><br />- No picture backgrounds? I really miss the Russian Red Square and Kremlin backgrounds of PC fame.<br/><br /><br/><br />The Ugly:<br/><br /><br/><br />EA is know for excessive snooping and data mining. I stupidly installed Origin (EA's gaming service), only to have it (without my permission) import games from Steam INTO itself, as well as send spam e-mails to my address that I TO THIS DAY can't get rid of.<br/><br /><br/><br />EA's business practices and customer support are also downright terrible. I purchased a copy of Battlefield 3 through Origin and couldn't wait to play. Later that week I noticed another charge for the same Battlefield 3 copy on my credit card statement, and immediately contacted EA support. I was informed that this was a mistake and would be taken care of. Weeks later it was still not remedied.<br/><br />Contacting EA support again (this time I called them), I was told that I never contacted them in the first place (thankfully I had an e-mail to prove otherwise).<br/><br />I was then accused that I had a pirated copy of Battlefield 3... Which I bought TWICE...<br/><br /><br/><br />Long story short, I solved the problem by calling back and speaking to someone that actually knew what they were talking about, I also called my credit card company and told them to block EA and Origin from placing any more charges on my credit card for one year. I then got a full refund from them (my credit card company).<br/><br />To this day I am not sure if I still have a copy (or two) of Battlefield 3 on my Origin account, and I won't bother checking.<br/><br /><br/><br />This was my one and ONLY experience with Origin. I will never, ever buy another game that requires that service. I simply no longer trust EA as a company. The only company with poorer support than EA is Lenovo.<br/><br /><br/><br />My main concern about this game is that knowing EA's practices (and after reading their EULA), I just don't feel safe with giving this application all the permissions it requires. There is always airplane mode, and that is something to consider while playing this game.<br/><br /><br/><br />If it was not for the incredibly intrusive permissions, I would rate this version of Tetris a 10 out of 5 - because at heart it is still a great game.<br/><br /><br/><br />If you download it as today's FAOTD, make sure to play it in airplane mode (or if you have a rooted device, install the ad/track blocking software). Otherwise stay away.<br/><br />I also don't think the game in its current state is worth the $2.99 asking price. There are many free versions of Tetris that are also ad and spyware free.</div>

It's super light and easy to use. The front and back camera are great to take selfies and pictures and it's great for taking videos. The Skype is great as well. I am a teenager myself and I am using it for school and personal stuff. I use the Google Chrome for web browsing and it's really fast. Downloading apps is fast as well as opening and running them. I have downloaded the CM Security from the Google Play Store for free and I run it once a day and it always says it's safe. I also downloaded the CleanMaster app and clean it after I'm done using it and it helps deletes the junk files and makes the device run even faster.<br/><br /><br/><br />A couple of my relatives have both the iPad and the iPad Mini, but when I tried both of them myself, nothing compares to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4. The iPad Mini is a little bigger than this and a little lighter, but from what I experienced, the Samsung is better and it saved me $200-400.<br/><br /><br/><br />The reading is great and I mostly download my books straight from Google Play Books and the Amazon Kindle Store. The Wattpad app (YouTube for E-books) is an awesome app for downloading free books written by teens and tranditional/self-published authors. The keyboard is great when it comes to commenting on the works and also typing my own stories.<br/><br /><br/><br />The battery lasts much longer, too. I had mine at 100% charged and it lasted for about twelve hours of playing time (with the brightness turned to low). I have the Netflix app and I can watch the videos perfectly. It's crystal clear.<br/><br /><br/><br />Listening to music is much more clear and easier when you put some ear buds on. The speaker is on the back of the device.<br/><br /><br/><br />Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 is a perfection! You should buy it!</div>

That helps explain how they got the actual voice talent of Jack Black and Dustin Hoffman, and the original rendered art.<br/><br /><br/><br />Pro:<br/><br />+ High-quality story, pictures, and voice<br/><br />+ The interface was intuitive for my toddler, who enjoyed moving to the next page<br/><br />+ Held my son's attention for the full story (10-15 minutes) despite him normally having an attention span of about 5 minutes for a single book.<br/><br /><br/><br />Con:<br/><br />- The story was only OK for me as an adult, which surprised me because I loved kung fu panda 1 & 2. I wonder if I'd feel the same about the holiday special?<br/><br />- I was a little disappointed they didn't have Po's Dad's actual voice other than whimpering, given that they had Jack Black & Dustin Hoffman<br/><br />- For long dialog on a given page, the text is shown and colored, then removed, and the next text shown and colored. This confused my son a bit, though I understand the technical choice behind it.<br/><br /><br/><br />I think my son is about the ideal age for this story book: Toddler or just past being a toddler.<br/><br /><br/><br />It's quite good overall, five stars from my son's point of view, but four from mine, and I'm the one writing the review :)</div>

It does have four inactive ad networks, so makes me wonder what the regular freebie version must look like. Does run OFFLINE, so that is your best bet for a young child's play. Installed at 47.89mbs with an option to move it to my SD Card (KitKat 4.4.2). The back-key exited cleanly for me while saving the day progress.<br/><br /><br/><br />I just can't give in good conscience five warm stars with such blazing "what were they thinking off" inclusion of Social Media links and a Rate Us push in a young children's game - I almost want to give it three for such malarkey. But as long as you, the Parent, are aware of it, then ELF ADVENTURE is good to go.</div>

My favorite is the default 'paper' theme, followed by the Flower Power theme. The animation is different for each theme, as well as each game inside each theme. Interestingly, the object gradually loses pieces instead of pieces being added as in the traditional hangman in the Flower Power and the Christmas Snowman themes. The regular 'paper' hangman offers humorous sketches; the dev clearly wants you to be entertained while playing.<br/><br /><br/><br />The music is sometimes very good, and other times just good. There are so many different songs, though, that there is little repetition and almost no annoyance. In fact, I've let it continue playing as I write this so I could enjoy the music!<br/><br /><br/><br />Regarding the Internet Access permission, beside the (unfortunately) ubiquitous Facebook and Twitter buttons, this app actually has a valuable use for the internet access permission: it allows you to look up the words you failed to guess on the internet using one or more of 5 different dictionary sources. Hopefully, the developer will add that ability to every word instead of just the one you miss. That brings it to three stars .<br/><br /><br/><br />Some more polish and bug fixes would go a long, long way towards more stars. I know this developer can pull it off and I hope that they do. We must hold paid apps to a higher standard, you know. Real money is changing hands, here, usually.<br/><br /><br/><br />(Note: yes, I got this app as the FAOTD and I thank both the dev and Amazon for that. But I have to assume that it is a different day as I write this for the sake of others.)</div>
